The COSPLAY EVENT on 30 May (Sat.) is free of charge.
However, due to the venue’s limited capacity, a Free Entrance Ticket is required for the Part 2. [Read More]
If you already have a Normal Ticket (3-Day) for the film festival, you can use the same ticket to attend the cosplay event (Part 2) as well.

If you wish to purchase pre-fixed dinner at the Nicolai Cafe for 30 May (Sat) and/or 31 May (Sun), you could order together with the ticket. 150 kr/per person/per meal

Hideo NAKATA
Director

Director
A visionary storyteller known for a distinct, modern cinematic perspective. His film, Downtown Utopia, was featured in the JDFF 2024 competition, where it won the Best Feature Film Prize.

Please meet the jury members of our Film Competition.

Rory O’Donnell
After a varied career as historian, archaeologist, stage actor, short film writer/director, casting director and course director for the Raindance Film Festival, in 2017 Rory started the English Language Film School (ELFS Japan) in Tokyo.
Next month he will be shooting his first film in eight years.

Kis Rauff
Kis Rauff has been working as cultural employée in the Cinema industry for the past 8 years. Prior to that she was working with other art forms such as art and theater. She has a degree as Master of Arts in Aesthetics and Culture from University of Aarhus, Denmark and has spend a year studying film at Université Vincennes in Paris. She has been a jury member at Karlovy Vary International Filmfestival and at the first year of the Japanese-danish Filmfestival.

Jonas Frederik
Jonas Frederik is a film composer and classical pianist with a Master’s degree in both. Further studies in orchestration at the Hollywood Music Workshop with Conrad Pope (regular orchestrator for John Williams). Besides playing concerts and writing concert music he has composed the scores for movies such as Revenge Of The Necromancer, The Girl In The Trunk and the Star Wars fan-films The Last Padawan I and II.
This is his 3rd year serving on the JDFF jury.

Eihi Shiina
JDFF Ambassador (artist-actress)
In 1994, she made her modeling debut in the Benetton World Campaign in Paris. Her advertisements, shot by world-renowned photographer Oliviero Toscani, became a worldwide sensation, and numerous collections, attracting attention as a rare individual who can express her worldview in any field, from Lolita to mode.
After retiring from modeling, she worked as an artist, holding solo exhibitions at art museums, before making her debut as an actress.
In 2000, she played the lead role of Asami in Takashi Mike’s film “AUDITION,” and her performance was immediately greeted with shock by film industry professionals around the world. Twenty-five years after the film’s release, she remains legendarily popular.
It has been three years since she was appointed as an ambassador and competition jury for the JDFF. At the main event of the festival’s inaugural edition, the film 『EIHI SHIINA VISUALBUM』for which she served as artistic director, had its world premiere.
