Japan-Denmark Film Festival
A celebration of cinema and the relationship between Denmark and Japan: two countries with distinct histories spanning thousands of years. Yet, they share a renowned cinematic legacy, which we aim to honor and celebrate.
Denmark boasts Lars Von Trier, and Japan has Akira Kurosawa, among others… It’s time to celebrate by showing the best films from the two countries to one another through an annual film festival.

We are happy to announce that Ms. Eihi Shiina (Actress) is the Film-Ambassador for the film festival!
Ms. Eihi Shiina attended the film festival in Kolding for the first JDFF in May 2024.
Who We Are
Japansk-Dansk Kultur Forening (JDKF), a non-profit organization fostering cultural exchange between Japan and Denmark. The key activities of JDKF are (1) Film Festival, (2) Film Co-Production between Japan and Denmark, (3) Film Education including trainings and workshops with Japanese and Danish film professionals.
